Bad boys, bad boys! Whatcha gonna do....

Little boys and trouble...synonymous! Our boys have been partaking in the throwing of rocks, pine cones, and walnuts at various objects including cars, houses, and other kids. Thus far, it had always been hearsay, but today a neighbor actually came over to inform us that the boys had been throwing rocks at his garage window (there were kids in the garage that the boys aren't particularly fond of). Anyway, I guess this has been going on for a couple of weeks between the boys in the hood but mine got caught! Well, Lavon had had enough of this behavior! Seems spanking, time out, grounding just wasn't getting through to them.
So....Lavon took the boys crying for their mommy :(, put them in the truck, and drove them down to the nearest police substation. I was mortified but I have to admit they probably needed it (thanks honey!). When they arrived at the station, Lavon told the ladies behind the bulletproof glass that our sweet boys had been throwing rocks at cars/houses and needed to speak to an officer. I can just picture my little babies as they sat waiting nervously for the officer (he was booking someone). They waited for nearly 35 minutes and Lavon said they didn't move nor say a word. Now why doesn't this happen in an office, store, etc.?!?! When the officer finally came out from the back, the boys were led into an interrogation room where they admitted to their crimes (gotta teach them to ask for lawyers first!) At least they told the truth! Anyway, the officer explained to the boys the consequences of what they were doing and told the boys that if they throw things at other people/property, Lavon gets to break one of their toys. Don't know if I agree with that consequence but if it keeps them out of trouble, fine! (Ask Lavon about the interrogation room...he has a better version!)
Wow! The boys experienced their first and hopefully last police station/interrogation. Lavon said the ride home was quiet (again, why does this never happen for me!?!). We talked some more to the boys when they got home. They are grounded, no swimming, bikes, etc. They seem to realize they better change what they are doing or big trouble is ahead!!
A mom always sees her children as sweet, kind, caring, well-behaved, etc. and it's a bit unsettling to realize they have a naughty side and would potentially harm others/property. The situation reminded my though, that I am first and foremost their mother, here to teach, direct, and guide them to be good people even if that means punishing them. I am not their best friend (even though I would like to be someday). They will have best friends, plenty I hope, but my job is to be their mother right now, to love them and lead them in the right direction. When they are grown, hopefully then, I can be the best friend and I can wait for that reward!!!

Yes...we still have summer school!

Summer school is going well. The kids are now in the routine of it all and are actually still sitting down, with few complaints, every morning to work. We completed our 1st fifteen days of work and got to celebrate with a trip to Roaring Springs. We all had a jolly good time!

T-Ball/Baseball with the boys!

Well we finally finished baseball with the two little boys! Yeah! Now we have the summer off from practices and games. Landon played T-Ball and cried most games, refusing to play unless Mommy or Nana would join him on the field. When asked by his coach at the last game if he would play next season, he replied "NO!!!" Just lovely! Logan played coach pitch baseball which he loved! We let him choose what to put on the back of his jersey...as you can see he chose "BUBBA." This is what I use to call him when he was a little guy! It was weird hearing other people/coaches calling him this. Logan loved baseball and wants to play again. He was so proud that he never had to hit off the tee all season (5 pitches and then you get the tee). Both boys did an awesome job and we are so proud of them!

Weekend in the Mountains

We spent the weekend up in Lowman (kid free) with Walter, Danielle, and Andrew. They had never been to the cabin before so we did our best to show them the ropes! Andrew had a great time with Uncle Von. It was quite entertaining to sit back and watch as the "boys" try new things and experience the outdoors.

Summer School!

Since I am staying home with the kids this summer, I thought it might be a good idea to have some structure and learning in our lives for my sanity! Therefore, Mrs. Webb's Summer School was created. The kids and I sit down for an hour, give or take, and get some learning done together. Each kiddo has a workbook on their level that they are working through with incentives and rewards. Our first reward is a trip to Roaring Springs. We are also doing the summer reading program at the library to earn prizes. Should make for an exciting summer! 4-wheelers!!!

Well we splurged and bought a few ATVs to enjoy at the cabin. We now have two "kid" 4-wheelers and one "grown-up" 4-wheeler...oh, and a trailer to go with them. We have had a great time so far riding around Kuna, the neighborhood and even took them up to Lowman Memorial Day weekend! We had a blast at the cabin...there are some pictures of us around the campfire being silly. We attempted to smoke pine needles but it didn't work too well! We had fun trying though!

Easter with the family

We had a wonderful Easter with all of our family and friends! The kids hunted eggs (indoors cause it was too cold and wet) and then we had family over for dinner.

Our All-Star

Of course ALL the kids had a wonderful season and are All-Stars but we did have one that actually made an All-Star team...EMMA! She had a great season! Emma improved so much this season. She is becoming quite the soccer player! Maybe she will follow in her momma's footsteps...

Another season done!

Yes, it has been awhile! With 4 kids playing soccer, school, etc. there never seemed to be enough time for mom to sit down and blog. Well, now that most sports are over with (baseball now!) and school is out, hopefully I will be able to be a better blogger! Here are some pictures from Spring soccer this year. Enjoy!
